Adaptive AUTOSAR implementation
POPCORNSAR - Stand AV10018

According to PopcornSAR, there are three megatrends in the IT industry – the IoT, autonomous driving and electrification. Many OEMs are reflecting these trends in their concept cars. All three trends will require a software platform, and many within the industry are using AUTomotive Open System Architecture (AUTOSAR).

AUTOSAR Classic came out in 2005 and was applied in many car models. As demand for more sophisticated software grew, Adaptive AUTOSAR was released. This can operate software that the Classic platform can’t, including that needed for autonomous driving. But Adaptive AUTOSAR involves more steps and issues for Tier 1 (electronic part) companies to solve. PopcornSAR says that in these cases, Tier 2 companies are needed to assist on the project.

In 2018, PopcornSAR completed the development of Adaptive AUTOSAR version R17-10. The company is cooperating with a Japanese company on its projects.

PopcornSAR also provides engineering and consulting services to enable the adaption of the Adaptive platform, as well as AUTOSAR training. At the expo, PopcornSAR plans to demonstrate its latest package for implementing the Adaptive platform (R18-03). Engineers including the company’s CTO, manager and CEO, will attend the exhibition.
