Eurotech debuts ruggedized computers for AV testing

Eurotech has presented its latest DynaCor family of water-cooled, ruggedized computers for datalogging and computing for the first time at Autonomous Vehicle Technology World Expo 2018 (Stand AV3008).

The 40-34 model targets datalogging, with up to 16TB of storage. It combines this with compact packaging that is designed to be operated inside a test vehicle.

“Traditionally, a datalogger with this performance would have air cooling, but by using our own proprietary water cooling system, we can deliver a system that minimises the amount of space that is required,” explained Pierfrancesco Zuccato, senior group manager. As a result of its efficient cooling, the same configuration can be used for testing in the vehicle as in a lab.

“These are building blocks for companies such as integrators, automotive companies or start-ups,” continued Zuccato. “We saw that they need tremendous computational logging capability when they are in the field, far from the lab. This is even more true when it comes to the large amounts of data that AV testing generates.”

The 40-34 can be combined in a cluster with the DynaCor 50-35, which is intended for high computational workloads, using its server-class CPU. This is combined with fast storage and Ethernet capability.
