Virtual test driving and large coverage testing with virtual ECUs
QTronic - Stand AV10002

Virtual ECUs port a significant part of the software of a real ECU in a simulated environment onto a PC. This way, virtual test drives can be performed on a PC with realistic models of the control software running in the car. Virtual ECUs can be built by compiling the C sources under Windows or by executing the target CPU HEX code on PC using QTronic’s chip simulators. Multiple virtual ECUs and plant models can be integrated in a simulation on PC with the company’s Silver tool. Integration with other driving simulators is easily done through the functional mock-up interface.

Even with a good simulation model, a huge number of scenarios and parameter variations must be considered and safeguarded before releasing automated driving functions. QTronic’s TestWeaver tool helps investigate the behaviour of the simulated system in large parameter spaces. Classical test automation is complemented by thousands of computer-generated scenario variations guided by intelligent search algorithms.
