BMW to develop Level 3 and 4 AV technology with TTTech Auto

TTTech Autosafety, which develops software and hardware platforms for automated driving, will be working with BMW towards the latter’s goal to bring Level 3 automated driving to market by 2021.

Elmar Frickenstein, senior vice president for fully automated driving and driver assistance at BMW, commented, “As we develop a modular, non-exclusive platform for autonomous driving, TTTech Auto's expertise in functional and software safety and security is extremely valuable. Together, we are determined to bring safe Level 3 automated driving to the market in 2021.”

TTTech has developed a modular platform, which it presented a year ago. The platform aims to bring automated driving projects to market faster and consists of embedded software, tools, prototype hardware and services that can be individually combined to fit specific needs. The software framework MotionWise is a scalable software platform for automated driving up to Level 5.
