Visitors looking for accurate positioning equipment should stop by Topcon, which develops GNSS receivers with an ever-expanding supporting network. The GNSS receivers work together with the TopNETlive real-time GNSS network correction service to receive differential correction data.
The company will also showcase the IP-S3 compact, fully integrated 3D laser and digital imagery mobile mapping system. This uses three key technologies to create HD maps. A dual-frequency GNSS receiver establishes a geospatial position, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) provides vehicle attitude, and a connection to the vehicle or to an external wheel encoder obtains odometry information. These three technologies work in tandem to sustain a highly accurate 3D position for the vehicle, even in locations where satellite signals can be blocked by structures, trees or other objects.
