Unit testing in the age of AI and autonomous driving
QA Systems

Autonomous driving changes automotive software design through increased data volumes, use of third-party data sets and inference models. Advances in function call control via both simulation and interception, and automated table-driven input data generation, ensure functional safety (ISO 26262) unit and integration testing requirements can be met for both new and changed software components. Combined with build-variant code coverage, data flow analysis and custom code injection, this provides a path toward improved comprehensive full-stack integration and robustness testing. The result is confidence in safe outcomes for intended (SOTIF/ISO 21448) and unintended execution flows alike.

At Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo, QA Systems will use real-world examples to showcase these modern testing approaches in action, with the Cantata tool ensuring functional safety across the entire automotive code base.

Users can learn how to enable full control of function calls both inside and outside the compilation boundary with unique wrapping technology; automatically identify, report and check each and aggregate code coverage data across all pre-compile #defines, for all build variants of the source code; and inject extra code with instrumentation anywhere in the software under test for testing purposes.
