Alexander KrausAlexander was appointed senior vice president of the mobility division at TÜV Süd in 2019. He is responsible for the global mobility industry, including vehicle homologation, highly automated driving, remarketing and consulting. Alexander is co-founder and executive chairman of the International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization (IAMTS), which was founded by TÜV Süd, SAE International, CATARC, AVL, A Nice City and ITIC in April 2019. He received his master’s degree in automotive engineering from Munich University of Applied Sciences, Germany in 2003 and began his career at TÜV Süd in 2004.

The presentation will address the key challenges of safety validation of automated and connected vehicles from a methodological and standardization perspective. It will as well deal with the need and setup of an alliance between key standardization institutions, 3rd party technical service providers as well as technology and infrastructure developers, providers and operators. Also, latest outcomes, practical examples as well as further focus areas and topics of the alliance will be presented.
